New Life Cycle was invited by Mun Yat Care Team and District Councillor Lau Chin Pang to organise a “Lai See Packet Upcycling Workshop” as part of a community Lunar New Year celebration.

Using used lai see packets as the main materials, participants transformed them into festive decorations through a simple and enjoyable craft activity, giving these short-lived items a new life.

Lai see packets symbolise blessings, goodwill and sharing. By reusing them, we can extend these blessings while combining festive joy with environmental protection. We hope the workshop encouraged participants to reduce unnecessary waste during the festive season and practise the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Upcycling.

We value opportunities to connect and collaborate with different community partners. We welcome schools, corporations, NGOs, residential communities and community groups to work with us on environmental workshops and activities that bring sustainability into more communities.
