kNOw Carbon House, operated by New Life Cycle, extended its opening hours over two periods, 22 to 24 September and 30 September to 2 October, to host the "kNOw Carbon Mid-Autumn Festival," bringing visitors a green and festive celebration.
The event brought together the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival with environmental themes. The kNOw Carbon Garden featured a new lighting installation, which lit up after dark and became a popular spot for photos. Over the six days, the event welcomed more than 2,000 visitors, who joined us in exploring a low-carbon way of life.
Hand-Painted Lantern Display
Lanterns created earlier at our lantern-painting workshop were displayed in the venue during the event. Each lantern reflected the creativity of its maker, and we thank everyone who brought their work to the House, adding a festive touch to the exhibition.
"Big Waster" Coffee Ground Scent Tag Workshop
During the event, we held a "Big Waster Coffee Ground Scent Tag" workshop, where participants gave used coffee grounds a new purpose by making their own Big Waster-shaped scent tags. Coffee grounds naturally help absorb moisture and odours, and carry a warm coffee aroma, making each tag both practical and charming. Through this activity, we hoped to encourage everyone to discover new uses for everyday waste.
Coffee Ground Planting Workshop
We also held a "Coffee Ground Planting Workshop," where participants mixed coffee grounds into soil and planted their own small plants. Coffee grounds contain some of the nutrients plants need and can help improve soil quality. By planting with their own hands, participants also experienced the value of reusing resources and carrying that mindset into daily life.
Throughout the event, the House remained fully open, so visitors could enjoy the festive atmosphere while learning more about carbon neutrality and everyday low-carbon living. We thank everyone who joined our activities, visited the exhibition, and supported environmental sustainability — your enthusiasm is what drives our mission forward.
