In support of the Hong Kong Government’s "Climate Action Plan 2050" and its four major decarbonization strategies—Net-zero Electricity Generation, Energy Saving and Green Buildings, Green Transport, and Waste Reduction for All—New Life Cycle Limited has been commissioned to operate Know Carbon House since 2024. Officially opened on September 22, 2024, the center aims to enhance public understanding of carbon neutrality and low-carbon lifestyles through exhibitions, interactive experiences, and educational activities.
The grand opening ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Wong Chuen-fai, JP, Commissioner for Climate Change; Ms. Li Chun-chau, Vice-chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC); Prof. Simon Wong Kit-lung, BBS, JP, Chairman of the ECC; Dr. Eric Cheng Kam-chung, SBS, MH, OStJ, JP, Chairman of the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee; and Mr. Ken Wong Yiu-kwong, Community Relations Manager of the Environment and Ecology Bureau. Together, they witnessed the official commencement of the facility’s operations.
kNOw Carbon House features four dedicated exhibition zones:
Big Waster Concierge: To begin the Carbon Reduction Ambassador’s exploration journey.
kNOw Carbon Adventure Lab: To get to know the four major decarbonisation strategies.
Big Waster Office: To meet with Big Waster and participate in carbon neutrality-themed activities.
kNOw Carbon Garden: To get to know recycling, reusing and upcycling.
Guided tours are available for both individuals and groups. Interested members of the public are welcome to visit the kNOw Carbon House website for reservations.
